COLLOQUIUMS KGOA UZH

front_iconic_encounters_flyer

A recent development with relevance to both the Kunstgeschichte Ostasiens (KGOA) and the KHIST is the idea of creating a common point of emphasis for future semesters. The first of a series of such semesters will be on the topic of “Asian connections” and will take place in the fall of 2009. During this semester, a number of KHIST courses will deal with aspects of Asia and its arts. Another important aspect of this and future semesters will be the holding of an Institute-wide colloquium, with speakers from both within and outside the university.

This colloquium will deal with aspects of the cultural connections between Asia and Europe. The talks will be held in German and in English and will (as a group) touch as many cultures and historical periods as possible. They will be held (with two exception) on alternating Thursday nights, from 18:30 to 20:00 and in KO2 F-174 on the main campus of the UZH.
